SCHOOL ID:342587

School Current Situation

Gov. Juanito Reyes Remulla Senior High School (GJRRSHS), with School ID 342587, began its existence in 2015 through the recommendation and efforts of Dr. Lualhati O. Cadavedo (Schools Division Superintendent), SDO SHS Technical Working Group, and the local executives of Imus City. All necessary requirement and documents for the establishment of this senior high school was accomplished and subsequently approved by the Department of Education.  A Senior High School awareness campaign was intensified all over Imus City to inform and encourage the young Imuseños to enroll in SHS standalones in the Division of Imus City. On November 2015 the construction of the infrastructure of Gov. Juanito Reyes Remulla Senior was started which at first is composed of 3 school buildings with a total of 40 classrooms.  The first school head assigned was Mr. Rafael R. Santos, a leader who came from Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo National High School (GEANHS) who assiduously served this institution for almost two decades. Assisting him in the establishment efforts were three teachers also from GEANHS, namely Michael S. Lejarde, Joseverino B. Laxamana, and Chrisel H. Vigafria, as members of the school’s Technical Working Group. It began the school year (June 13, 2016) at a temporary campus at GEANHS (PAGCOR Bldg.) until its projected transfer of October or November, 2016.

Located in Barangay Toclong II-B, the campus of GJRRSHS is sited behind the Barangay Hall. It is near the Julian River, a tributary of the Imus River, around 500 m away from Toclong Elementary School, 1 km away from Benedictine Institute of Imus, 1 km away from the Schools Division Office, 4 km away from GEANHS, and 1.5 km away from the City Proper or Poblacion. The area however, according to Barangay Officials, is prone to flooding, prompting planners to elevate the site by around 1.5 m from the road and the first floor of the buildings is around 1 m high from the grounds.

As of June 17, 2016, there were 268 students officially enrolled. Housed in a temporary building lent by GEANHS, with 20 available classrooms, 11 sections were formed based on the different tracks offered by GJRRSHS. The rest of the rooms were distributed among the several ancillary or student services (i.e. guidance office, principals’ office, clinic, etc.). The present campus was also provided with 704 arm chairs, a learner-seat ratio of .38. However, as of this writing, 335 students are officially enrolled, thus, increasing the learner-seat ratio to .47. Water supply is through Maynilad with an available water pump and 12 toilets are available, with 4 designated for PWDs. A total of 16 toilet bowls are also functional. The status of the buildings that will be used in the actual site, as of June 21, 2016, includes the start of works in the 2nd level of building 1, groundworks for building 2, the third building has yet to be started.
